Play Dough
I got this recipe from Joy School and I made one batch that lasted the whole year since it was stored in the refrigerator. We really liked it!
1 C flour
1/2 C salt
1 C water
1 T oil
1 t cream of tartar
food coloring
Mix dry ingredients in a sauce pan. Add oil, water and food coloring to the dry ingredients. Cook over medium heat until dough pulls away from the sides of the pan and forms a ball. This takes only about 30 seconds to 1 minute. Remove to counter and knead until smooth. Caution: it will be warm.
Note: This makes a soft dough that keeps it shape when molded. It wil ldry out, but not enought to make things like jewelry. If kept in a plastic bag or air tight container in the refrigerator, it will keep for many months.
