Simple Potsticker Dipping Sauce

My family likes to eat the Ling Ling potstickers from Costco (or the grocery store when I have a great coupon).  We love the dipping sauce, but we never have enough to last through the large bag from Costco.  After looking at different recipes (simple, complex, spicy, etc), I concocted this, which we like.  It is very simple. 1/8 C (or 2T) soy sauce (any kind) 1 T vinegar  (I have only used white so far) 1 t sugar Dash of red pepper flakes (optional) Mix the above ingredients in a bowl.  Then dip.  Easy!

Texas Caviar - Hungry Housewife

I really like the mix of beans, vegetables and vinegar that comes with this recipe.  I found it on the Hungry Housewife blog and tweaked it a little bit. My mom makes a great Texas Caviar that is a little different than this and is delicious! 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar 1/2 cup oil (canola, vegetable, etc) 1/2 cup sugar 1 can black beans, drained and rinsed 1 can black eyed peas, drained and rinsed 1 cup frozen or fresh corn 1 small can green chiles 2 stalks celery, chopped 1/2 red onion, chopped 1/2 green pepper, chopped Salt and pepper In a small sauce pan over medium high heat, bring vinegar,oil and sugar to a boil and cook until the sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and cool. Add all the veggies in a large bowl and pour the liquid over the top. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Stick a spoon in there and mix it around every so often.
